So when you need to cut a tile for corners, edging or otherwise need to trim it down, you can do it with a wet saw, snap tile saw, or even by hand. The same is true for drilling holes. Ceramic tiles are much easier to drill through. What is more, ceramic tiles are generally available at a lower cost. So when asking why ceramic floor tiles, the answer is cutting, drilling and the price.
