Hi, I got some glazed porcelain tiles from TFO. I noticed they are marked “Grade: A” but I cannot find what this means, my searching only mentions a PEI rating. Have seen other advertisers say “Grade AAA”. Does this mean my tiles have a low wear rating, how does it rate to the PEI scale?

Hi there, thanks for your enquiry. Grade A refers to the quality of the tile, in this case it is first quality. The PEI rating relates to an abrasion test performed on the glazed surface. We can find out the PEI rating for you if contact the office on (02) 8728 7800 and provide the 4 digit product code on your invoice.

Hi ? I am in Katoomba, NSW. I am looking for a suitable tile for an indoor living area I.e My lounge and dining rooms down stairs -rooms are a split level. I am Looking for something light but warm, with a glaze or a similar protected surface that would suit my little old miners cottage (downstairs dining and lounge area). I recently had a flood and lost my beautiful bamboo floor (which I had only put in over a year ago – over old terracotta tiles). I am hesitant to put back the bamboo floating floors again, as when they were removed there was so much water trapped under them because of the tiles there was no where for the water to go – – if there is ever another incident involving water I would always worry about mould. Anyway the area is approx 25metres. Do you organise installation or can you refer me to someone? Thank you. Sincerely, Joanne

Hi Joanne, thank you for your inquiry and sorry to hear about the incident. Tiles are extremely practical and easy to maintain. Sounds like you like natural building materials. We’d love you to check out our wide range of stunning timber look tiles that combine the look of timber with the strength of porcelain tiles. We don’t have installation services. However, we have a list of tilers you may like to get in touch with. (tfo.com.au/tilers)
