Can these tavertine pavers be used for drive ways?

Guest?

Hi there, thanks for your enquiry. This particular product is a 12mm tile so is only suitable for use laid onto concrete. A 30mm paver is suitable to lay onto road base and sand for a driveway. As this is a natural stone, please note that it will also need to be sealed when installed.

Hi there, can these tiles be used for the driveway and how thick are they?

Member
9 months 22 days ago

Hi,
Thank you for your online enquiry, if you wanted to use a natural stone for a driveway i would use a minimum of 30mm thick, the stone your looking at is 12mm, your other option is using a Anti Slip tile,
I suggest you come into our showroom and have a chat to one of our sales reps and they can run you through the different options you have when it comes to tiling a drive way, or you can simply just call our office on 87287800.

Hi there. We’re building a house in Vanuatu and would be exporting these and we pay VAT at the other end on importation. We would need to buy these GST-free – have you done this before for export customers? Also we would need to arrange transport to Brisbane for shipping in a few weeks’ time – is this possible? We would be looking at around 50 square metres I think – waiting on some specs. Many thanks for your help.

HI there
We are thinking of using these in our kitchen and entry way as we love the look of them and they are so non slip.
They are advertised more as outdoor tiles; what are the things to consider if using for kitchen/hallway e.g. are they thicker than other floor tiles? We looked at the floor tiles on your site and they don’t give the thickness : is there a set width for floor tiles?

With thanks

Guest?

Hi Mike, you can absolutely use this product for your indoor areas. The thickness is not an issue as it’s only about 2mm thicker than normal porcelain tiles. Being a porous product, some customers like to fill the holes with grout while some prefer to leave them as is for a more rustic look. Either way, you’ll love the look of this tile indoors!

Hi, you have mentioned previously that the tiles need to be sealed. What is this product, do you supply this and how easy/hard is it to apply?
We are planning on laying travertine tiles on a concrete slab(not yet installed) around the pool, but we would also like to have a bullnose paver to edge the pool – do you have a matching bullnose paver for this particular product?
I noticed that these particular tiles have holes, when the sealer is applied does it fill the holes?
Also, it is called ‘Budget’ is it because of the thickness or is it a lower quality than the other more expensive travertine pavers you have available? Thankyou

Member

Hi Cassandra, Thank you for your inquiry. TFO sells Sureseal products. For travertine, we recommend water-based impregnating sealers which can be applied very easily and are effective for a long time. We have bullnose travertine pavers in stock. All batches come with colour variations due to being natural stone. Impregnating sealers actually don’t fill the holes as they penetrate into the body of the paver. Budget products have more rustic characteristics in comparison to the other travertine products, but they remain to be our best sellers.
